CONGRATULATIONS to our branch members who competed at the Midland Regional Fleadh held 9th May 2010 at Princethorpe College. They achieved excellent results and will now go on to the All Britain Fleadh in June. Results as follows:

Letterkenny Branch Website Launched

The Letterkenny Comhaltas Branch launched its new website www.comhaltasletterkenny.com on the 3rd weekend in April. The Launch was officially performed by Comhaltas President Mr Seamus Mc Cormack and attended by Ulster Chairman, Eamon Graham, the Mayor of Letterkenny, local politicians and representatives from Donegal branches of Comhaltas.

The aim of the site is to promote a knowledge and awareness of Comhaltas activities in the greater Letterkenny locality and Co. Donegal. The site will encourage all those interested to become involved in playing, learning and enjoying our traditional culture.

The website hosts an encyclopedia of information about Comhaltas, the local branch, Comhaltas events, previous fleadhs, music, and excellent images in the gallery.

With almost a hundred pupils for weekly music classes, the website will be used as a educational tool with information detailing classes, easy access to new tunes for pupils and weekly session information posted on a regular basis.

Members of Coventry Comhaltas are visiting the Letterkenny Branch of Comhaltas in Co. Donegal from 16th April 2010 to 19th April 2010 to take part in a musical celebration in memory of musician Hughie McGovern (R.I.P.)

Starting off the day with a breakfast and music at The Premier Inn, Belgrade Plaza from 9.30 to 11.30 a.m. Carrying on in the afternoon at Bar Inspire at 2.00 and again at 4.30 p.m. Finishing the day from 8.00 p.m. at The Hearsall Inn, Craven Street.
